Consultancy Services for the Preparation of a Baseline Survey for the Rural Access and Mobility Project in Imo State of Nigeria, World Bank (2018)

The main objective of RAMP is agricultural commercialization. This study determined the socio-economic baseline for communities around at least 10 rural roads that were to be rehabilitated under RAMP 2 (treatment group) as well as 10 rural roads that were not to be intervened (control group) with a view to assess the impact of rural roads project investment and operations at household and community levels in terms of access, cost and barriers to obtaining agricultural inputs, economic opportunities, health, education and other social services.

The survey particularly focused on access to agricultural inputs and markets, transportation costs, farmer incomes and post-harvest losses, amongst other indicators, and employed a quasi-experimental approach with activities that included design of survey instruments, data collection (electronic) and analysis as well as reporting, amongst others.
