Sector-Wide Assessments in the Cashew, Cotton, Groundnut and Sorghum Value Chains in Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda under the Trade Health Education and Microfinance Programme (THEMP), International Institute for Local Development – IILD (2018)
These are the three selected countries for initial THEMP implementation in east Africa. The objective of THEMP is poverty alleviation and regional growth through the export of processed and semi-processed goods in the selected value chains. The assessments aim to identify bottle necks in the commercialization of value chains of comparative advantage, assessing constraints and potentials in farming practices, access, processing, storage, packaging, transportation and export.
