Consultancy Services to undertake Sector-Wide Assessments in Selected Agricultural Value Chains in Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Guinea Bissau and Mali under the Trade Health Education and Microfinance Programme (THEMP), International Institute for Local Development – IILD (2018)
This assignment is part of a larger 10-year agreement to provide ongoing technical assistance to THEMP, whose trade platform is facilitating sector and value chain development in 12 countries in sub-Saharan Africa towards the export of finished and semi-finished goods. The selected value chains in West Africa are bamboo, cashew, cocoa, cotton, groundnut, maize and sorghum. Activities under the assessments include identification and confirmation of value chains of comparative advantage; identification of processing activities, including challenges and potential; identification of markets, infrastructure, and transportation as well their challenges and potential.
